Men’s Volleyball Drops Non-Conference Finale to MSJ

NEW YORK, NY - Taking on their final non-conference opponent of the 2026 season, the Yeshiva Men's Volleyball Team fell to Mount St. Joseph University, losing to the Lions by a score of 3-0 on Monday, Mar. 9th.

The Maccabees were led on both sides of the ball by Mateusz Karpow, with the Poland native tallying six digs and two kills on the night.

With the result, the Macs are now 2-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first set proved a close battle through the first 17 serves, with Yeshiva just barely behind at 9-8. However, the Maccabees' production could not keep that same pace through the latter half of the period. The Maccabees managed just five more points, only one of which came from a kill, ultimately falling, 25-13.

  • MSJ and YU once again locked horns to kick off the second set, seeing the lead change hands five times over the first 17 points before finally settling at 9-8 in MSJ's favor. From there, the Lions broke away, putting Yeshiva in a 10-point hole at 21-11. Powered by a strong service streak from Asher Sasin, the Maccabees managed to draw within five at 23-18, but the comeback fell short, with the Macs losing, 25-18.

  • Yeshiva struggled in the third and final set. YU did not register a kill, putting up just 13 points. The Maccabees dropped the set, 25-13, and the match, 3-0.
