PATCHOGUE, NY - Taking the diamond for the first time since the end of March, the Yeshiva Softball Team dropped a doubleheader to St. Joseph University Long Island, losing to the Golden Eagles by scores of 12-1 and 12-0 on Thursday, Apr. 16th.
Â
In game one, the Maccabees were led by
Aliza Feldman, with the senior recording two hits and an RBI. In game two, YU saw a stellar performance out of
Galit Roth, as the second-year player recorded two hits on three at-bats.
Â
With the result, the Macs are now 0-15, 0-10 in conference play.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1 (L, 12-1)
- Yeshiva recorded two hits through the first two innings, seeing both Feldman and Maya Dennen record infield singles.
Â
- However, despite the success, YU could not turn baserunners into runs until the top of the fifth. After singling to the first baseman, Shira Pfeiffer advanced to second on a walk drawn by Tali Finkelstein. She was then brought home by a Feldman single to right field, recording YU's one and only run of the afternoon.
Â
- Unfortunately, SJLI had no such issues scoring, tallying five runs in the first inning, six in the second, and one in the third.

Â
HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 2 (L, 12-0)
- Replicating their early success of game one, YU notched three hits through the first two innings, as Roth, Feldman, and Layla Hellman all made solid contact.
