OLD WESTBURY, NY - Hitting the road for the last time in the 2026 season, the Yeshiva Baseball Team fell to The College at Old Westbury, losing to the Panthers by scores of 16-2 and 12-2 on Wednesday, Apr. 29th.
Â
The Maccabees were led by
Jake Arnow, with the Edison native tallying two hits, two runs, and two RBIs across the pair of contests. This statline includes a home run in game one, the fifth of Arnow's career and a new all-time Yeshiva program record.
Â
With the result, the Macs are now 2-26, 1-17 in conference play.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1 (L, 16-2)
- Yeshiva struggled through the first two innings, only managing one baserunner. Old Westbury took advantage of YU's slow start, jumping out to a 12-0 lead.
Â
- The Maccabees finally got on the board in the top of the third when Arnow blasted his record-setting homer over the left field fence, scoring both himself and Simmy Goldberger.
Â
- Unfortunately, the effort by Yeshiva's star was not enough to catch the Panthers. Old Westbury went on to score four more runs while the Maccabees were held without another, selling a 16-2 YU loss.

Â
- However, those two runs would prove the only YU would manage. The Maccabees would only tally one more hit throughout the rest of the game, while Old Westbury scored four in the first, three in the second, one in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth, and one in the seventh.
