Men’s and Women’s Fencing Earn USFCA Team Academic Awards, 22 Garner Individual Honors

NEW YORK, NY - Proving beyond a shadow of a doubt to be two of the nation's top academic programs, the Yeshiva Men's and Women's Fencing Teams have earned Academic honors from the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA), both on the team and individual levels.

As teams, both have earned USFCA All-Academic Honors, meant to award teams who finished the season with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher. Yeshiva is one of 20 teams on the women's side and 14 teams on the men's side to be given the accolade, slotting in alongside such legendary programs as Johns Hopkins University, Columbia University, and Duke University.

On an individual level, 22 Maccabees earned awards. All 22 were named to the All-Academic Team, honoring student athletes with an in-season GPA of 3.3 or higher, while 19 received the additional recognition of Scholar of Distinction, given to those fencers with an in-season GPA of 3.7 or higher.
