Lady Macs Lose Physical Game vs. Skyline Conference Foe St. Joseph’s 80-42

NEW YORK, NY - Rebounding would be the determining factor in last nights game as the Yeshiva Maccabees (2-10, 0-8 Skyline) found themselves in a physical game last night against the St. Joseph's Lady Bears (4-4, 2-2 Skyline). St. Joseph's 29 offensive rebounds would lead to 28 second chance points and prove to be the determining factor in the game. Senior Jaclyn Ramraz (Woodmere, NY / SKA), coming off her HVWAC Honorable Mention Player of the Week, continued to be the Lady Macs most consistent player as she would lead all scores with 16 points.

St. Josephs opened the game with an 8-0 run as Yeshiva struggled with an early press by St. Joe's. A timeout by Yeshiva got the Lady Macs offence going as Shir Fuchs (Herzeliya, Israel / Hayovel) hit a three pointer to get Yeshiva on the board. The St. Joe's press kept causing problems for Yeshiva, but the Lady Macs continued to battle as Ramras would hit a jumper to cut St. Joe's lead to 14 with 8 minutes left in the first half. Unfortunately senior center Lauren Kempin (Fairlawn, NJ / Frisch), Yeshiva's leading rebounder, was whistled for three fouls in the first five minutes of the game. St. Joe's took advantage of her absence proving to be too physical inside for the Lady Macs. The Lady Bears would pull away in the second half as the final score would be 80-42.

Senior Trish McMahon (Patchogue, NY/ Patchogue-Medford) led all St. Joe's players with 13 points with senior Corissa Stack (Patchogue, NY/ Half Hollow Hills West) adding 12 points. Shir Fuchs had a solid game as she scored 13 points off the bench and Lauren Kempin finished with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.

The Lady Maccabees will be off for intersession and their next game will be January 19th at Sage College.
