Biron’s Strong Shooting Night Not Enough as Yeshiva Loses to MSV in Defensive Battle

NEW YORK, NY - The Yeshiva Maccabees (3-3, 2-1 Skyline) found themselves in a tough defensive battle Tuesday night, as the Macs lost 50-38 to Mount Saint Vincent (2-0, 1-0 Skyline) in a Skyline Conference match-up. The Macs were led by Chen Biron (Kfar Saba, Israel / Katzanelson) who had his strongest performance of the young season, as he led Yeshiva with 16 points with four three pointers.

Yeshiva was tied at 7 with MSV midway through the first half, until Joe Ecock jump- started an 8-0 run to put the Dolphins up 15-7. The Macs would be fighting an uphill battle from that point on as they found themselves down 31-17 at halftime.

Yeshiva came out with a strong defensive determination as they would hold MSV to 19 points and 27 percent shooting from the field in the second half. Biron got the Macs to within nine, as he scored five straight points, to move the score to 47-38 with four minutes left. The Macs could not score after that point though, and fell short 50-38.

The Maccabees will be back in action this Thursday night as they face off in a tough Skyline battle against Old Westbury at 8:00 PM in the MSAC.
