NEW YORK, NY - Stuffing yet more awards into an already legendary season, a pair of Maccabees have earned Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association honors, with
Zevi Samet being named both Player of the Year and First Team All-Met, and
Yoav Oselka garnering Third Team All-Met accolades.

Samet earns the award after a season for the ages, averaging 23.8 points on .487 shooting, including .408 from beyond the arc. No stranger to awards, the Monsey Mamba has been named: NABC First Team All-American, D3hoops.com Second Team All-American, D3hoops.com Region 3 Player of the Year, D3hoops.com All Region 3 First-Team Skyline Player of the Year, Skyline All Conference First-Team, Winner of the Ryan Turell Character and Inspiration Award, Finalist for the Bevo Francis Award, Finalist for the Trevor Hudgins Award, 4x Skyline Player of the Week, MBWA Divs. II/III Player of the Week, D3hoops.com Team of the Week, and USBWA Player of the Week.
Oselka had a career season in his third year at Yeshiva, with the Israeli big man putting up 14.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, tallying a team-high eight double-doubles. On top of this accolade, he was also named Second Team All-Skyline.
Under the leadership of both Samet and Oselka, the Maccabees saw unprecedented success, with the team winning its second straight conference title and advancing to the NCAA Sweet 16.
