NEW YORK, NY - Continuing the legacy of Yeshiva Basketball greatness both on and off the court, Zevi Samet has been named the winner of the Ryan Turell Character and Inspiration Award.

The Ryan Turell Character and Inspiration Award was created in 2024, and is meant to recognize the overcoming of adversity and hardship by a player at the small college level, a men's basketball player who "handled great challenges with character and class, and ultimately became an inspiration and role model for others."
 
On Samet winning the award, Head Coach Elliot Steinmetz had to say, ""What an absolutely deserved honor for Zevi. We've been blessed to have such high character student-athletes in our program over the years.  Ryan and his teammates set the standard for excellence on and off the court, and Zevi, along with Max and his teammates, have taken it to the next level. We are lucky to have such amazing people to continue raising our program and culture to new levels while setting a stage for the future as well."
