(Newburgh, NY) - Sophomore Shir Fuchs (Herzeliya, Israel/Hayovel) scored 10 points during her Yeshiva University debut, and junior Lauren Kempin (Fairlawn, NJ/Frisch) enjoyed a solid game with six points and five rebounds, but the Yeshiva University Women's Basketball team lost its tenth straight game, 85-28 to defending Skyline Conference Champion Mount St. Mary on Thursday night at Mount St. Mary. With the loss, Yeshiva is now 1-11 overall and 0-9 in Skyline Conference play.
Using a commanding 59-29 rebounding edge, Mount Saint Mary took a 23-1 lead to open the game, and led 40-13 at halftime. Yeshiva battled back a bit during the second half, but was unable to make a comeback.
Overall, Yeshiva was outshot 45%-19% and committed 25 turnovers, compared to Mount St. Mary's 13.
The Maccabees return to action on Saturday, Jan. 24 when they host the College of New Rochelle for an 8:00 p.m. Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) game. The game will take place at Baruch College.
