Tough Loss for Women as Albany Pharmacy Wins 69-29

NEW YORK, NY – The women's basketball team had a tough Hudson Valley match-up against Albany Pharmacy Sunday afternoon, and the Panthers went home with a 69-29 victory. The win moves them to 5-8 while Yeshiva drops to 2-13.

The Maccabees had a tough shooting afternoon, connected on only 18% of their shots in the game. Defensively, The Macs blocked 11 shots and held Albany to 35% shooting, but they gave up 19 offensive rebounds which led to 21 second chance points. The team was cold from behind the line, shooting 0-8.

Jaclyn Ramras and Shir Fuchs led the team with 8 points each. Lauren Kempin nearly had a double-double with 15 rebounds and 7 blocked shots. Avigail Varnai and newcomer Rachel Israel each had 8 rebounds.

The Macs will play host to Old Westbury Wednesday evening at the Yeshiva HS for Girls in Queens, NY. The game is scheduled to begin at 8PM.
