NEW YORK, NY – The women's tennis team dropped a conference road match at Farmingdale Tuesday evening, by a final of 8-1. The Maccabees are still looking for their first win of the season (0-4).
Yeshiva played some of their best tennis of the season, getting a second singles win from
Esti Reichman 6-1, 6-1. The Macs nearly got the first singles win too, as
Stephanie Danoff won the first set 6-3 but dropped the next two 5-7 and 8-10.
Jenny Goldstein came within a point of forcing a third set, but ultimately fell 1-6, 6-7.
Esther Shechtman played third singles and fell 4-6, 1-6, while
Joanna Ross played 5th (2-6, 0-6) and
Erika Kamish played 6th (1-6, 1-6).
Danoff and Reichman paired up in first singles, dropping their match 4-8. Shechtman and Goldstein dropped 2nd doubles 2-8, while Ross and
Eliana Trink played at third singles and fell 0-8.
The team's next match will be Thursday afternoon at NYU-Polytechnic. The match is scheduled to start at 3:00PM at the USTA Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.
