Yeshiva Men Nearly Make it Two in a Row but Mount Saint Vincent Prevails 2-1

NEW YORK, NY - The Yeshiva men's soccer team tied the game at 1 early in the second half, but a goal by the Dolphins in the 72nd minute proved to be the game winner and prevented the Maccabees from earning their second straight win. Yeshiva is now 1-7-1 (0-5-1) on the season while MSV stands at 3-4-3 (2-3-2) overall.

Elezir Nuvakhov netted his 4th goal of the season in the 55th minute to tie the score at 1. The pass came across the center of the field from Zachary Stern, whose assist was his third of the season. The point increased his streak to 4 straight games with at least one point recorded.

After Mount Saint Vincent scored the go-ahead goal in the 72nd minute, the Maccabees were unable to get a shot off the rest of the way. Mark Rocklin went the distance in goal, saving 8 shots. The Dolphins were called offside 16 times, compared to Yeshiva's 2 offside penalties.

The Maccabees will be playing next on the road at St. Joseph's College on Thursday, with a start time of 7PM.
