NEW YORK, NY – Sunday afternoon was Senior Day for the Lady Macs, who recognized three student-athletes who are playing their final season with the team. Captains
Lauren Kempin and
Jaclyn Ramras, along with
Alexandra Diskind were recognized before play on Sunday. Unfortunately the Macs fell to the Gators 87-51.
Lauren Kempin played 28 minutes for the Macs, scoring 7 points and pulling down 8 rebounds. She also blocked 3 shots to move her season total to 69.
Alexandra Diskind started and played 18 minutes, connecting on a three pointer in the opening seconds of the second half for her only points. She also pulled down 4 rebounds and had 1 blocked shot.
Jaclyn Ramras was unable to attend the game because of the weekend's snow storm in the Baltimore area.
The Macs held a brief 3-2 lead early on after
Avigail Varnai hit a three, but the Gators controlled the game the rest of the way. Varnai ended with 10 points and 9 rebounds.
Shir Fuchs led the Maccabee scoring with 20 points on 6-13 shooting, including a perfect 6-6 from the line. Yeshiva trailed by 15 at the half, and was outscored 50-27 in the second half.
The Macs are on the road for the next three games, before coming home to finish the regular season. They will travel to Purchase Tuesday night for an 8PM game.
