NEW YORK, NY – The men's tennis team defeated St. Joseph's Brooklyn Wednesday evening 7-2 for their first victory of the young season. The Macs are now 1-3 on the season.
The night began with Yeshiva winning 5 of the 6 singles matches.
Seth Nayowitz played first singles and narrowly defeated his opponent 10-8.
Adam Weiss in the second position was the only Yeshiva singles player to drop their match. He fell 10-5.
Sam Grossman,
Eddie Ashkenazie,
Jonathan Stern, and
Nate Japhet each won their matches pretty easily; 10-2, 10-1, 10-5, and 10-0 respectively.
In doubles play, Yeshiva lost the 1st doubles match 8-4, but won the second and third matches 8-4 and 8-0. The competitors in each match played doubles respective to their singles position (1st and 2nd singles paired up to play each other, etc.).
The team's next contest will be April 11th against Sage College. The game will be played at Binghamton Racquet Club at noon.
