Box Score

NEW YORK, NY – The Yeshiva Maccabees were on the road at Skyline opponent Maritime College Saturday night,  playing their 6th straight Skyline contest.  The Macs dropped the contest 62-55 after leading by 5 at the half.  Yeshiva is currently 2-8 (2-4) while Maritime improved to 2-8 (2-2).

Yeshiva opened the game with a 7-2 run, highlighted by an opening minute dunk by Dovie Hoffman on the team's second possession.  Maritime fought back and took the lead by as much as 4, but the Macs maintained their composure and held the lead for the final 5 minutes of the first half.  A small 5-1 run at the end gave the Macs a 5 point halftime edge.

The opening minutes of the second half were all Yeshiva, as they scored the first 5 points top open a 10 point lead.  But the Privateers answered with 5 straight of their own.  Free throws by Gil Bash at the 9:30 mark put the Macs up by 9 again, but that proved to be the last time they would hold that kind of advantage.  A 16-6 run by Maritime, capped by a long three pointer at the 3:29 mark, gave Maritime 1 one point edge.  On Yeshiva's next possession, Hoffman laid the ball in the hoop but that turned out to be the final points Yeshiva would score.  Maritime ended the game on an 8-0 run that earned them the 7 point win.

Hoffman led the team with 22 points on 9-13 shooting.  Bash chipped in with 15 and also handed out 4 assists to lead the team.  Both Bash and Arman Davtian led the team with 6 rebounds each.  Davtian had 4 blocked shots in the game.

Up next for Yeshiva is Farmingdale at home on Monday night.  Tip-off is set for 8PM at the MSAC.
