Seniors Help Propel Macs to 68-21 Victory Over Vaughn College

NEW YORK, NY – The women's basketball team won their second game of the season, after defeating Vaughn College 68-21 Sunday afternoon.  The game marked the annual senior day game, where 3 seniors were recognized at halftime for Yeshiva.  The three seniors recognized were Mercedes Cohen, Fiona Guedalia, and Eli Goldenberg.
 
The seniors were led by Fiona Guedalia with 6 points and 3 rebounds.  Eli Goldenberg followed with 4 points and 3 rebounds, while Meredes Cohen tallied 2 boards and 3 assists.  Leading the team was Haley David with 17 points, followed by Rebecca Yoshor with a double-double 16 points and 17 rebounds.  Daniella Litwin added 13 points for Yeshiva.
 
Yeshiva shot 43% from the field, on 29-67 shooting.  They connected on all but 2 free throws (8-10) and out-rebounded Vaughn 63-37.  Offensively, the Macs pulled down 45 rebounds, and were whistled for only 3 fouls all game. 
 
On behalf of the entire athletic department and the basketball coaches and team, Yeshiva University would like to thank the seniors for their hard work and dedication to the team, and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
 
The last regular season game will be Tuesday night against Berkeley College at 8PM.  The HVWAC game will be played at Hostos, and will determine the final seeding for the upcoming conference tournament.
