NEW YORK, NY – The mens tennis team dropped a close 5-4 rematch with Rutgers-Camden, after losing to them 6-3 during the non-traditional season matchup in the fall. Despite the early 2-1 lead after doubles play, the Macs lost 4 of 6 singles matches to drop to 1-2 on the season.
Zach Charles and
Eitan Gettenberg started the day off with an 8-2 first doubles win.
Jeremy Seftel and
Eddie Ashkenazie teamed up for an 8-6 second doubles win. The third doubles match went down to the wire, with Rutgers-Camden pulling out the 9-8 (5) victory.
In singles play, Charles won his first singles match in three sets, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2. Eliezer Gewirtz won the 5
th singles match 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 as Yeshiva's only other singles win.
Jeremy Seftel lost a close 2
nd singles match 4-6, 4-6.
The Macs play host to CCNY on March 11
th, in a men's and women's tennis double header. The men open play at noon and the women will follow at the conclusion of the men's match.
