Box Score RIVERDALE, N.Y. - In a game that featured six ties and eight lead changes, including neither team holding more than a six-point margin throughout, it was the Yeshiva University men's basketball team that moved back to the .500 mark Saturday night at Peter Jay Sharp Center, with a 57-54, Skyline Conference triumph over host College of Mount Saint Vincent.
Three players scored in double figures for the visiting Maccabees (8-8, 5-5 Skyline), which completed a season sweep of their home-and-home slate against the Dolphins (5-13, 3-8 Skyline). Junior
Benjy Ritholtz (W. Hempstead, N.Y.) tied for the game-high with 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting (2-for-3 3FG), while senior
Gil Bash (Tel Aviv, Israel) added 15 points and a game-high-tying three steals. Fellow senior
Dovie Hoffman (Tarzana, Calif.) chipped in with 12 markers for the visitors, who shot 5-for-10 from 3-point range and were aided by a 14-for-20 display from the free-throw line.

Shlomo Weissberg (Skokie, Ill.) added eight points and a team-best seven rebounds, and made a crucial layup with 29 seconds left in the contest to put YU up by a 56-51 count. Mount Saint Vincent added three points in its next offensive possession to pull within two, before Bash knocked down the first of his two free throws to push the Yeshiva advantage to 57-54 with eight seconds remaining. The Dolphins were unable to get off a potential game-tying trifecta attempt, as the Macs took home the victory.
Head coach Dr. Jonathan Halpert's Yeshiva squad is back in Skyline action on the road Monday night (Jan. 28), when it travels to Newburgh, N.Y., for an 8 p.m. tip-off at Mount Saint Mary College.
