Men's Soccer Loses to Purchase

TEANECK, N.J.— The Yeshiva University men's soccer team was defeated by Purchase College, 5-0, in a Skyline Conference matchup at Fairleigh Dickinson University on Sunday evening.
 
The loss drops the Maccabees to 1-4-0 in Skyline Conference play and 1-6-0 overall. Purchase College remains unbeaten in conference play at 4-0-1 and 7-3-1 overall.
 
The visiting Panthers raced out to a 4-0 lead at halftime to establish a nice cushion through the first forty-five minutes of play. Enderson Mhilli netted three goals in the contest, including the first three of the game. He got Purchase on the board at 9:52 with the first goal of the game, before scoring  again at 17:28 to make the score 2-0. The fast Mhilli put another shot home at the 22:15 point of the opening half to put the Panthers up three. A goal by Tim Rera at 35:36 made the score 4-0 before halftime.
 
During the first half, Yeshiva took almost as many shots as did Purchase. The Panthers outshot the Maccabees 7-6 through the first forty-five minutes of the game.
 
In the second half, Purchase scored again when Zach Miller put on in at 71:25 to pull ahead 5-0.
 
Purchase now has 13 points in the Skyline men's soccer standings, three points behind first place Sage College who is 5-0-1 in conference play.
 
For the contest, Purchase held an 18-13 advantage in shots and 12-3 on corner kick attempts.
 
Leon Aboudi, Itamar Ben David and Daniel Benchimol had three shots each, while two of Benchimol's landed on goal.
 
Yeshiva returns to action on Tue. Oct. 15 for a contest at the College at Old Westbury at 7:30 p.m.
