Box Score TEANECK, N.J.— Yeshiva University earned its first overall and conference win of the season as the Maccabees beat NYU-Poly 2-1 on Thursday evening.
Yeshiva scored quickly to start the game when
Itamar Ben David put home a shot late in the third minute to put the Maccabees ahead 1-0. The play developed after a series of nice passes which eventually put
Leon Aboudi in position to offer a crossing pass to Ben David who put it home.
Midway through the first half the host Blue Jays knotted the score on a goal by Othmon Almashhadani.
In the second half, the Maccabees scored what proved to be the game winning goal when
Daniel Benchimol put one home with 33:26 showing on the clock. He got around his last defender and slid it past a charging NYU-Poly goalkeeper for the goal.
