ALBANY, N.Y.— The Yeshiva men's soccer team was defeated 4-1 on the road to Sage College in a Skyline Conference match-up on Sunday afternoon.
The Maccabees scored the first goal of the game on a strike by
Rafi Friedman , with an assist coming from
Itamar Ben David at the 8:51 mark.
But the host Gators scored four in a row, en route to the win. Sage tied the score in the eleventh minute on a goal by Tyler Sivulich. The Gators then took the lead after Sean Lanza scored a goal at 20:55. Moments later, Scott Jarosz netted a goal to put Sage up by a pair by halftime.
In the second half, Sage got a goal from Jose Miranda to complete the scoring.
Yeshiva was outshot 18-9 in the contest, including 9-6 in the first half and 9-3 in half number two.
Doron David made five saves for the Maccabees, who return to action on Wednesday evening for a game against St. Joseph's-Long Island at 8 p.m. at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers, N.Y.
