POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.— The Yeshiva University men's fencing team opened team play last Sunday and fell in six matches at the Vassar College Invitational.
Yeshiva was defeated by the host Brewers 24-3, and lost to Sacred Heart University 25-2, Hunter College 16-11, Haverford College 20-7, Lafayette College 19-8 and Stevens Institute of Technology 22-5.
In epee, Yeshiva won eight out of 54 bouts.
Judah Isaacs led the team in epee with four victories.
Ariel Ancer added two wins, while
Alexander Koppel and
Jacob Silber had one.
In foil, Yeshiva won 17 bouts and had a great performance out of freshman Spencer Brash with a big afternoon of 11 wins and four losses to lead the team.
Sam Larson added four wins, while
Marcos Sasson picked up a pair of victories.
In sabre, Yeshiva picked up 11 wins.
Michael Farnoosh had six wins to lead the team, while
Jed Segura earned three victories.
Jack Sasson picked up two wins at the invitational.
