NEW YORK, N.Y.— The Yeshiva women's basketball team was defeated by the City College of New York (CCNY) 69-55 in a non conference game at the ARC Arena Wednesday night.
The Maccabees were led by
Stephanie Greenberg with 19 points, five steals, five rebounds and four assists, while
Rebecca Yoshor added another double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. She added four blocked shots as well for Yeshiva.
Haley David had seven points and
Naomi Gofine had six points.
CCNY was led by Syreeta Williams and Bria Fisher with double-doubles. Williams had 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Fisher had 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Yeshiva opened the game with a 4-0 lead, but the visiting Beavers answered with a 21-2 run to take a 21-6 lead with 8:52 to go before halftime. CCNY led 39-22 at halftime.
CCNY maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the way. The Beavers never led by less than 13 the rest of the way.
Yeshiva connected on 23-of-70 shots from the floor for a 32.9 percent clip, while CCNY was 26-for-66 from the floor for 39.4 percent.
CCNY committed three more turnovers than the Maccabees, but the Beavers capitalized in the miscues more, outscoring Yeshiva 21-9 on points off turnovers.
