Itamar Ben David netted his first hat-trick of the season, capitalizing on a pair of penalty kicks, before scoring his third goal of the game in the eighty-ninth minute as the Yeshiva men's soccer team shutout York College, 4-0, at Aviator Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.
Yeshiva (2-0-0) led 1-0 at the half. The Maccabees got the lone goal of the first half on Ben David's first of two penalty kicks at the 11:54 mark of the match. Yeshiva then went ahead 2-0 late in the fifty-fifth minute on another penalty kick by Ben David. Yeshiva scored again at the 64:06 point of the game when
Adir Alon netted his third goal of the season after taking a pass from
Rafi Friedman and nailing the shot top shelf over the York goalkeeper to make the score 3-0. Friedman then got another assist on the goal that completed Ben David's three goal afternoon.
Yeshiva held a 13-12 advantage on shots, including 7-6 in the first half.
Maccabees' goalkeeper
Maor Feinstein picked up his second shutout in as many games, stopping six of six shots in net. York goalkeeper Mohamed Elbarbury made five saves for York.
Yeshiva is back in action on Friday for a home contest against Fisher College (Mass.) at 11 a.m. at Purchase College Soccer Field.
