BOX SCOREFLORHAM PARK, N.J.— The Yeshiva University women's tennis team earned another win on Friday morning and improved to 5-2 overall after a 6-3 non conference win at Fairleigh Dickinson University Florham (FDU).
The win was the fourth in a row for Yeshiva.
Yeshiva opened play by winning two out of three doubles matches. At No. 2 doubles,
Tova Hirt and
Galila Shapiro were 8-0 winners over the FDU combination of Trisha Paul and Jill Duke, while at No. 3,
Anita Levy and
Dena Rubanowitz won 8-6 against the team of Tenzin Lama and Ore Obiwumi. At No. 1 doubles, FDU got a win over the Maccabees as Nu-Kermeni Kermah and Serina Grande beat
Jannah Eichenbaum and
Jenny Tepler 8-4.
In singles matches, Yeshiva got wins at No's. 3-6 to secure the victory. At No. 3, Shapiro was a 10-8 winner against Lama. At No. 4, Hirt beat Duke 10-1. At No. 5, Levy won 10-3 against Obiwumi. At No. 6 it was Rubanowitz beating Roshelle Belfer 10-2. At No. 1 singles, Eichenbaum, playing at No. 1 singles for the first time this season, lost 10-2 to Kermah. At No. 2 singles, Tepler lost 10-8 to Grande.
Yeshiva is back in action on Sunday for a key match against Skyline Conference foe Farmingdale State at 1 p.m.
