Strong Fourth Quarter Not Enough For Women's Basketball Against Sage

Box Score

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's basketball team suffered a loss to the Sage Colleges, 68-43, in Skyline play on Saturday evening on the campus of CCNY.

The Maccabees (0-9, 0-6 Skyline) were led by sophomore forward Michal Alge, who produced a double-double, by scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. She also forced two steals and dished out one assist. Junior forward Simee Rosner added 13 points and brought down seven boards.

Yeshiva dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring first place Sage (9-2, 5-0 Skyline), 17-4. Early in the fourth, Rosner successfully converted a layup, while being fouled. She hit the free throw to complete the three-point play. Alge ended the game strong for the Maccabees by laying the ball up and in with just two seconds left. It wasn't enough as Sage earned the win to remain undefeated in Skyline play.

Yeshiva will be back in action on Monday, for a Skyline matchup with St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn. The contest will begin at 8:30 p.m. at the Hill Center.
