HOBOKEN, N.J.— Highlighted by a 15-12 win over Hunter College, the Yeshiva men's fencing team went 1-4 in five matches at the Mid Atlantic Conference Fencing Association (MACFA) Group B round robin hosted by Stevens Institute of Technology on Sunday.
The losses for Yeshiva were 24-3 to Stevens Institute of Technology (Stevens Tech), 17-10 to the College of New Jersey (TCNJ), 22-5 to New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and 20-7 against Army.
Spencer Brasch had big day for Yeshiva, going 11-4 in foil. He swept his matches against the opposition from Hunter and NJIT and went 2-1 against his fellow foilers from Army and TCNJ. He earned one win against the Stevens Tech foil trio.
Overall Yeshiva had 40 wins, including 20 in foil, 17 in saber and three in epee. While Brasch's 11 wins led the way for the Maccabees,
Marcos Sasson earned six wins in foil.
Michael Farnoosh had five wins in saber,
Jed Segura had four wins in there.
Jonathan Hoffman and
Jack Sasson had three wins each in saber, while
Robert Nagger earned three wins in foil. Avi Kerendian had two wins in saber, while in epee,
Alexander Koppel earned two.
Jason Vessal had one win in epee.
