HARRISON, N.Y.— The Yeshiva men's tennis team was defeated by Division I Fordham University 6-1 at Life Time Athletic on Sunday afternoon.
The loss leaves Yeshiva at 5-3 on the season.
With all three doubles counting as one point, Fordham went into singles with a 1-0 lead. The host Rams won at No. 2 doubles and No. 3 doubles to secure the point at doubles. At No. 2 doubles,
Robby Rubin and
Dmitri Lebedyev lost 8-3, while at No. 3 doubles,
Charles Saka and
Meir Burk lost 8-2.
David Papis Elon and
Adam Wannon, at No. 1 doubles, went unfinished.
In singles play,
David Papis Elon was a winner at No. 1. He won 6-4, 6-7 (11-9), 1-0 (10-7). At No. 2 singles, Lebedyev was defeated 6-4, 7-6 (10-0), while at No. 3, Wannon lost 6-0, 6-0. In No. 4 singles, Saka lost 6-4, 6-2, while at No. 5 it was Rubin falling 6-1, 6-0. At No. 6 singles, Katz lost 6-0, 6-0.
Yeshiva is back in action on Wednesday for a match against Purchase College at the Binghamton Racquet Club at 8 p.m.
