BOX SCOREEDGEWATER, N.J.— The Yeshiva men's tennis team earned its first shutout of the season as the Maccabees defeated Skyline Conference foe Sarah Lawrence College 9-0 at the Binghamton Racquet Club on Sunday afternoon.
The win improves Yeshiva to 2-1 overall this season and 1-0 in the Skyline Conference. Sarah Lawrence falls to 0-1 overall and 0-1 in Skyline play.
Four out of the six singles matches saw the Maccabees win 6-0, 6-0. At No. 2 singles,
Dmitri Lebedyev was a 6-0, 6-0 winner, while
Robby Rubin won by the same scores at No, 4 singles. At No. 5 singles,
Akiva Katz picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory, and
Eitan Rudansky at No. 6 did the same. At No. 1 singles,
Igal Mostkov was victorious 6-2, 6-3, and at No. 3 singles,
Charles Saka won 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles play, Mostkov and Saka teamed for an 8-1 win at the No. 1 spot. At No. 2 doubles, Lebedyev teamed with
Adam Wannon for an 8-1 victory. At No. 3 doubles, it was Rudansky and
Meir Burk getting an 8-2 win.
Yeshiva returns to action on Monday for a match against Brooklyn College at 8 p.m. at the Binghamton Racquet Club.
