DANBURY, CONN. --- The Yeshiva University women's tennis team took a 5-4 loss on the road at Western Connecticut State University on Thursday evening at the Westside Courts. It was their second straight one point loss, as the Maccabees' record drops to 0-2. It was the first match of the season for the host colonials.
Senior team captain
Galila Shapiro was the big winner on the day, winning a thrilling tie-breaker at number three singles, 6-2, 6-7, 10-3, before teaming up with junior
Lindsay Frucher to win at number two doubles, 8-1.
Up next for Yeshiva, the team begins their Skyline Conference schedule on Tuesday when they host St. Joseph's College of Long Island in an 8:00 p.m. match.
