Box Score MAHWAH, N.J. – The Yeshiva University women's basketball team opened the 2016-17 season with a non-conference loss to Ramapo College, 80-37, at the Bradley Center on Tuesday evening. Yeshiva falls to 0-1, while Ramapo ups its record to 1-0.
The Roadrunners led from wire-to-wire and outscored the Maccabees in every quarter.
Leading the way for Yeshiva was junior forward
Michal Alge, who scored a game-high 17 points with five rebounds and two steals. Senior forward
Simee Rosner and freshman guard
Laura Betesh each produced five points with the former grabbing eight rebounds, blocking two shots and forcing two steals, while the latter recorded four steals and two assists.
Yeshiva played its best stretch of basketball in the middle of the third quarter, outscoring Ramapo 9-4 in a span of 4:28. Alge successfully hit four free throws during that run. However, Ramapo shifted momentum back into its favor for the remainder of the game to earn the victory.

Tess Blaustein and classmate
Tzipora Leiser each scored four points, while sophomore guard
Avigayil Wiener added two points of her own.
Yeshiva will be back in action on Thursday, for a non-conference battle at Pratt Institute, beginning at 8:30 p.m.
