Later in the stanza, Cohen drilled another three-pointer to give the Maccabees their largest lead of the game, 60-52, with 8:50 remaining.

Coast Guard (1-1) rallied to pull within two, at 63-61, but a layup by senior forward Dean Pienica increased Yeshiva's lead to four with seven minutes left to play. After the home team tied the contest at 67, Halpert made one of two free throws to put Yeshiva back up by one. From that point on, Coast Guard took complete control of the game by scoring six unanswered points to take a 73-68 advantage with 4:05 remaining.
