Box Score STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's basketball team dropped its non-conference game against the College of Staten Island, 87-61, at the Sports and Recreation Center on Tuesday evening. Yeshiva now concludes the season-opening four-game non-conference road trip.
The Dolphins (1-2) scored the first seven points of the contest and never looked back. With 12:40 remaining in the opening half, senior guard
Jordan Hod nailed a three-point field goal to pull the Maccabees (1-3) within four, at 11-7. Later in the half, sophomore guard
Judah Cohen drilled a shot from beyond the arc to narrow the Dolphins' lead to 17-12, with 10:04 left in the half. That was as close as Yeshiva would get, as CSI went on a 16-5 run to take a commanding lead. Yeshiva trailed by double-digits for the remainder of the game.
For the contest, Cohen scored 19 points, grabbed five rebounds, and forced three steals, which were all team-highs. Freshman forward
Bar Alluf added nine points, while sophomore forward
Tal Gweta and Hod each scored eight points. Senior forward
Michael Berg scored four points, dished out a team-high four assists, and grabbed just as many boards. Senior forward
Dean Pienica added five points, while freshman forward

Daniel Poleyeff each chipped in with four points.
Yeshiva will host its home opener on Sunday afternoon against New York University, at the Max Stern Athletic Center, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
