Box Score NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's basketball team dropped its Skyline Conference contest to Mount Saint Mary College, 57-36, at the Kaplan Center on Sunday afternoon. Yeshiva now falls to 2-6 overall, while Mount Saint Mary remains undefeated this season.
Leading the way for the Maccabees was junior forward
Michal Alge, who produced a game-high 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Sophomore guard
Avigayil Wiener scored a career-high eight points, while senior forward
Simee Rosner recorded seven points with 10 boards.
Yeshiva got off to a strong start as a three-point field goal by Wiener capped off a 5-0 run to put the Maccabees up, 9-5, with 2:28 remaining in the opening period. After the Knights (7-0, 4-0 Skyline) jumped out to a 12-10 advantage, Wiener drilled another shot from beyond the arc to put Yeshiva up by one, with 22 seconds left. The quarter ended with YU leading by a score of 13-12.
Mount Saint Mary took complete control of the contest by outscoring Yeshiva, 21-2, in the second quarter to go into the half with a 33-15 lead. The Maccabees could not sustain a consistent run in the second half, but did outscore the Knights 9-8 in the final period. It was not enough as Mount Saint Mary went on to win the Skyline contest, 57-36.

Tzipora Leiser produced two points, and brought down three rebounds, while sophomore guard
Penny Rabin pulled down two boards.
The Maccabees will host St. Joseph's Long Island in a Skyline contest, at the ARC Arena, on Tuesday beginning at 7:00 p.m.
