Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's basketball team was defeated by the College at Old Westbury for the second time in five days by a score of 84-72, at the Max Stern Athletic Center, on Tuesday evening. The Maccabees' quest to clinch a home playoff game continues, while the Panthers remain in first place in the conference standings.

Leading the way for Yeshiva (13-10, 11-7 Skyline) was freshman guard
Jamie Cappell, who scored a career-high 20 points, and drained six three-point baskets. Senior forward
Shelby Rosenberg produced a game-high 25 points, while grabbing seven rebounds. Freshman guard
Judah Cohen added 12 points and a team-high six assists.

The Maccabees never led at any point in the game, as Old Westbury (16-7, 15-3 Skyline) jumped out to a 20-7 lead, less than seven minutes into the contest. Trailing by as many as 20 in the opening half, Yeshiva battled back by going on a 10-3 run, capped off by a layup from Cohen in the closing seconds, to shrink Old Westbury's lead to 43-30 at the half.

In the second stanza, Rosenberg knocked down a pair of free throws to pull the Maccabees within 11, at 74-63, with 2:35 remaining. Old Westbury was able to extend its lead to 15, but Rosenberg drilled a shot from downtown to narrow the deficit to 78-66, with just over a minute left. Twice in the final minute, Cappell nailed a three-pointer to pull Yeshiva within 11, but that was as close as the Maccabees would get as the Panthers went on to win the game, 84-72.

Yeshiva will be back in action on Thursday evening, for another Skyline contest against St. Joseph's College of Long Island, at the Max Stern Athletic Center beginning at 8:00 p.m.
