FLUSHING, NY – The Yeshiva University women's tennis team opened the 2016-17 season by earning a convincing win over Western Connecticut College, 6-1, at Queens College on Thursday evening. The Maccabees won four singles matches and took two out of three doubles contests.

Rebecca Packer dominated in third doubles, 8-0.
The Maccabees (1-0) won every set in singles competition. Junior
Shani Hava cruised to a win at #1 singles, 6-0 and 6-2, while Packer won her first collegiate singles match by dominating the fourth flight, 6-1 and 6-0. Frucher clinched a victory at #5 singles, 6-0 and 6-1, while Levy earned the win in the sixth singles match, 6-1 and 6-1.
Yeshiva will be back in action on Sunday, for a non-conference road match at the College of Staten Island, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
