MAHWAH, N.J. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team opened up the 2017-18 season against Ramapo College, in a rematch of the first round of last season's NCAA tournament, at the Ramapo Athletic Center on Wednesday afternoon. The Roadrunners were victorious this time, by a score of 6-3.

Ramapo (4-1) won two out of three doubles matches, and earned victories in four out of the six singles flights.

Freshman Dor Gutterman and senior Charlie Friedman teamed up to earn Yeshiva's (0-1) lone doubles win, in the second position, by a score of 8-5. Gutterman came back to win a close #2 singles contest. After splitting the first two sets, Gutterman won the super breaker (10-8) to clinch the second position. Friedman earned a competitive win in the fourth singles flight, 6-1, 7-6 (5).

The Maccabees will take the rest of the fall off, before returning to action in the spring. Yeshiva will play at the University of Delaware, an NCAA Division I school, on Sunday, February 18. The time of the match is to be announced.
