CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Yeshiva University women's and men's fencing teams competed in the Eric Sollee MIT Invitational, on the campus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, on Sunday afternoon. Both teams dropped duels to host MIT, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Brandeis University.
For the women, senior
Jamie Baum and junior
Rebecca Kerzner each won two epee bouts during the afternoon. Junior
Gal Gir earned a victory in sabre against NJIT.
On the men's side, junior
Spencer Brasch won six out of nine bouts in foil, including all three against MIT. Senior
Alexander Koppel picked up two epee wins, while sophomore
Nolan Edmonson earned an epee victory of his own.
The men's fencing team will compete in the MACFA Round Robin Group "B" event on Sunday, on the campus of Stevens Institute of Technology. The women's team will compete in the EWFC Championships the following Sunday, February 19.
