FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team knocked off Farmingdale State, in a Skyline Conference contest by a score of 8-1, out on Long island on Wednesday afternoon. With the win, Yeshiva clinches home-court advantage throughout the Skyline Conference Championships, as well as at least a tie for the first seed. The Maccabees have now won 22 consecutive conference matches dating back to 2014.
For the afternoon, Yeshiva won two out of three doubles flights and went 6-for-6 in singles play.
Senior
David Papis Elon won both sets in the first singles position, 6-2, 6-4. Sophomore
Adam Rosemblaum bounced back to win at #2 singles in convincing fashion, 6-2, 6-0. Sophomore
Mikey Ozery cruised to a third singles win, 6-1, 6-0, while freshman
Lior Brik won both sets in the fourth singles position, 6-1, 6-0. Junior
Charlie Friedman earned a win at #5 singles, 6-0, 6-1, and senior
Daron Greenblatt was victorious at #6 singles, 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles, Papis Elon and Ozery won the second flight, 8-0. Senior
Adam Wannon and Friedman won the third flight, 8-1.
Yeshiva will conclude the regular season on Sunday, with a Skyline Conference match at St. Joseph's Long Island, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
