FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's tennis team earned a non-conference win over Lehman College, 6-3, on the Queens College Tennis Courts on Thursday evening. The Maccabees advance their record to 5-1 overall.
Yeshiva won two of the three doubles contests, and took four out of the six singles matches to earn the team win.
Senior
Adele Lerner teamed with sophomore
Michal Ladenheim to win at #2 doubles, 8-1. Senior
Rachel Slater and sophomore
Rikki Weingarten were victorious at #3 doubles, 8-2.
In singles play, Slater dominated the third flight, 6-0, 6-0. At the fourth position, sophomore
Bailey Frohlich won the first set in a tiebreaker, 7-6, but then came back to win all six games in the second frame. Ladenheim earned a convincing win in the fifth singles match, 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore
Shana Adler won at #6 singles, 6-2, 7-6.
Yeshiva will return to the Queens College Tennis Courts on Sunday, for a Skyline match against St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
