FLUSHING, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's tennis team earned a convincing win over St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 9-0, on the Queens College Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Maccabeees now clinch a spot in the upcoming Skyline Conference championships.

"The team is excited and looking forward to the playoffs," Yeshiva head coach Naomi Kaszovitz said. "It's been a great season with everyone playing their best and giving their all. As the coach, I am particularly thrilled we have come this far and hope to go all the way to the championship."

Senior Shani Hava and junior Rebecca Packer teamed up to win at #1 doubles, 8-1. Hava came back to win the first singles flight, 6-1, 6-1. Packer did not drop a game in her two-set victory at #3 singles.

Senior Adele Lerner and classmate Andrea Weiss earned a dominating victory at #2 doubles, 8-1. The former was also victorious at #2 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Sophomores Bailey Frohlich and Rikki Weingarten did not lose a single game in their convincing win at #3 doubles. Frohlich won at #4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Classmates Michal Ladenheim and Amanda Berlin won every game in their victories at #5 singles and #6 singles, respectively.

"The student-athletes have been devoted and dedicated to giving their all to the team, on and off the court," Kaszovitz said.

The Maccabees will return to the Queens College Tennis Courts on Tuesday, for a Skyline Conference match against Sarah Lawrence College, beginning at 8:00 p.m. If Yeshiva wins Tuesday's match, the Maccabees will clinch the No. 1 seed in the conference championships.
