PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's tennis team opened the 2017 season by earning a Skyline Conference win over Purchase College, 5-3, at the Purchase College Tennis Courts on Tuesday evening.
The Maccabees (1-0, 1-0 Skyline) took two out of the three doubles matches, and were victorious in three of the five completed singles contests.
Senior
Shani Hava and junior
Rebecca Packer teamed up to earn a dominating win at #1 doubles, 8-1. Hava came back to win the first singles flight, 6-1, 6-1, while Packer was victorious at the #3 position, 6-1, 6-3.
Newcomers
Bailey Frohlich and
Michal Ladenheim won at #3 doubles, 8-3. Ladenheim also earned a win at #5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Yeshiva will be back in action on Thursday, for a Skyline Conference match against defending four-time conference champion Farmingdale State. The match will take place at Queens College, beginning at 8:00 p.m.
