EASTON, Pa. – The Yeshiva University men's fencing team competed in the MACFA "A" vs. "B" event, at the Kirby Sports Center, last Sunday afternoon. Yeshiva earned a narrow victory over The College of New Jersey, 14-13, while dropping team duels to host Lafayette College (22-5), Cornell University (23-4), Drew University (21-6), and Rutgers University (17-10).

Noah Shafron and sophomore
Avi Glazer each won a sabre battle.
Joshua Polster added a victory in epee, while freshman
Sammy Teichberg won two out of three foil duels. Glazer earned a sabre win over Rutgers.
Yeshiva's epee team earned a 5-4 victory over Drew University. Senior
James Alavosus won all three of his bouts, including the team-deciding battle. Sophomore
Ilan Marouani and Polster each earned a win of their own. Shafron picked up a sabre victory.
Against Cornell, Alavosus, Marouani, and Polster each won an epee battle. Shafron earned another victory in sabre.
The epee team just fell short to Lafayette, 5-4. Marouani and Polster each went 2-1. Representing the sabre team, Glazer was victorious in one bout.
The Maccabees will be back in action on Sunday, February 2, at the Eric Sollee MIT Invitational. The bouts will take place at the Johnson Athletic Center.
