HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Yeshiva University men's fencing team competed in the MACFA 'B" Round Robin meet, on the campus of Stevens Institute of Technology, on Sunday afternoon. The Maccabees dropped their team duels to Hunter College, Army, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Stevens Institute of Technology.
Against Stevens, junior
Noah Sragow won two out of three sabre bouts. Classmate
James Alavosus won an epee duel, while senior
Spencer Brasch won a battle in foil.
Spencer Brasch won two out of three foil bouts against Hunter. The younger brother of Spencer, freshman
Max Brasch, made his collegiate debut and earned two foil wins over the Hawks. Alavosus and junior
Nolan Edmonson each picked up a win in epee.
Against Army,
Spencer Brasch won all three foil bouts, while
Max Brasch picked up a victory of his own. Alavosus went 2-1 in epee duels, while Edmonson and freshman
Ilan Marouani each won a duel.
Sragow picked up a win in sabre against New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Yeshiva will be back in action on Sunday, for the MACFA "B" vs. "C" event. The first duel at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility will take place at 9:00 a.m.
