ELKTON, Md. - The Yeshiva University men's tennis team opened the spring season with a hard-fought loss to Division I University of Delaware, 7-0, on the Elkton Indoor Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon.
In doubles play, Junior
Adam Rosemblaum and sophomore
Lior Brik teamed up to push their Division I opponents to the limit, falling just short by a score of 7-6 (1). Junior
Mikey Ozery and senior
Charlie Friedman won two games in the second doubles flight, while sophomore
Avidan Rudansky and freshman
Ezra Rudansky were victorious in three games at #3 doubles.
In singles play, Rosemblaum won a game in the first set of the first flight, while Ozery picked up a game-victory in the second set, at #2 singles. In the first set of the #3 singles flight, Friedman earned wins in two games, while Avidan Rudnasky won two games in the opening set at the fifth position. At #6 singles, sophomore
Alexander Kalb won a game in the first frame.
Yeshiva will host Rutgers-Camden in the home opener, next Sunday, at the Binghamton Racquet Club. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
