NEWARK, N.J. - The Yeshiva University men's fencing team competed in the MACFA "B" vs. "C" event, at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility, on Sunday. Yeshiva earned a win over the College of William & Mary, 15-12, while dropping team duels to Johns Hopkins University (24-3), Haverford College (20-7), Lafayette College twice (20-7 and 18-9), and the United States Naval Academy (22-5).
Senior
Spencer Brasch led the way by winning 14 out of 18 foil bouts.
In the win over William & Mary, the foil team won eight out of nine bouts.

Jacob Tokayer went 2-1. The epee team went 6-3, led by junior
James Alavosus, who won all three of his bouts. Freshman
Ilan Marouani went 2-1, while junior
Nolan Edmonson earned a win of his own. In sabre, junior
Noah Sragow won a duel.
Against Navy, the foil team earned a narrow 5-4 win.
Spencer Brasch swept all three of his bouts, while
Max Brasch and Tokayer each won one.
In the first team duel with Lafayette,
Spencer Brasch won two out of three foil duels, while
Max Brasch picked up one victory. In epee, Alavosus once again went 3-0, while Marouani earned a win of his own.
In the second duel against Lafayette,
Spencer Brasch once again went two-for-three in foil bouts, while Tokayer and
Max Brasch each won one. In epee, Alavosus and Marouani each won two out of three duels.
Against Haverford, Brasch went three-for-three in foil duels, while Alavosus and Sragow each went 2-1 in epee and sabre battles, respectively.
In the team duel with Johns Hopkins,
Spencer Brasch won a bout in foil, Alavosus claimed a victory in epee, and Sragow earned a win in sabre.
The Maccabees will compete in the MACFA Championships, on Sunday, March 4. The meet will take place at the Kirby Sports Center, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
