EDGEWATER, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team dropped its home opener to ASA College N.Y., 7-2, at the Binghamton Racquet Club on Sunday afternoon. The Avengers bump their record to 1-0, while the Maccabees drop to 0-3. ASA won back-to-back NJCAA Division I National Championships in 2015 and 2016.
ASA won two out of three doubles flights and five out of six singles matches.
For the Maccabees, junior
Adam Rosemblaum and sophomore
Lior Brik teamed up to win a tight first doubles match, 8-6. Rosemblaum came back to win the first singles position, 6-4, 6-3. Brik dropped the first set in a tiebreaker 7-6 (3) at #4 singles.
Yeshiva will return to the Binghamton Racquet Club on Tuesday, for a non-conference matchup against SUNY Oneonta. This will be the first Division III opponent of the spring season for the Maccabees. First serve is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
