KINGSTON, Pa. – In the battle of the defending conference champions, the Yeshiva University men's tennis team dropped a non-conference contest to the reigning 10-time MAC Freedom Conference champion Wilkes University, 8-1, at the Kingston Tennis Club on Sunday evening. Yeshiva falls to 3-4, while Wilkes advances to 8-2.
The Colonels won all three doubles contests, while taking five out of six singles flights. Getting the lone win for Yeshiva was senior
Charlie Friedman, who claimed a thrilling fourth singles battle. He won a tight first set, 7-6, before dropping the second by the same score. The Montreal native went on to win a marathon 10-point tiebreaker, 12-10.
Yeshiva will be back in action on Thursday, for a non-conference match against Rutgers-Newark, at the Binghamton Racquet Club. First serve is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
