BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team knocked off Ramapo College in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, 5-0, on the campus of Bowdoin College on Thursday afternoon. Yeshiva will take on nationally-ranked No. 3 Bowdoin College, in the second round, on Friday morning.
This is the third NCAA Postseason victory the Maccabees (14-5) have earned in school history. Yeshiva's most recent NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Tournament win came in the first round last season, also against Ramapo College (11-7), 5-3.
"I'm just so proud of these men," Yeshiva University head coach
Jon Rubinstein said. "They came out firing again in doubles. They overcame some mid-match adversity and battled until the end."

Dor Gutterman rallied from a 6-4 deficit to win the second doubles flight, 8-6. Junior

Lior Brik concluded doubles play with a thrilling victory at the first position, 9-7.
"Winning all three doubles matches was huge," Rubinstein said. "With that, we were able to relax and play our game in singles."
Brik dominated the fifth singles flight, 6-0, 6-1, to give Yeshiva a commanding 4-0 lead in the match. Rudansky clinched the NCAA Tournament first-round win for the Maccabees, by earning the victory at #6 singles, 6-1, 6-4.
In the unfinished singles contests, Ozery won the opening set in the second flight, 7-5. Friedman was victorious in the first set at #4 singles, 6-3.
Yeshiva will try and get past the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history, on Friday against host No. 3 Bowdoin. First serve on the Pickard Tennis Courts is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. "We are looking forward to seeing how we do against a very tough Bowdoin team," Rubinstein said.
