HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Yeshiva University men's fencing team competed in the MACFA Round Robin Group "B" meet, on the campus of Stevens Institute of Technology, on Sunday afternoon. Yeshiva dropped team duels to New Jersey Institute of Technology (27-0), Army (19-8), Hunter College (18-9), and host Stevens (26-1).
The epee team was victorious against Army, 6-3. Sophomore
Joshua Polster won all three of his duels against West Point, while classmate
Ilan Marouani went 2-1. Senior
James Alavosus added a victory of his own. Junior
Noah Frydman won a foil duel, while classmate
Sammy Teichberg picked up a victory in sabre.
The Maccabees defeated the Hawks in epee bouts, 7-2. Alavosus won all three of his duels, while Polster and Marouani were each victorious in two out of three battles. Teichberg prevailed in his second sabre duel of the afternoon.
Marouani picked up one more victory, this time over Stevens, by a score of 5-2.
The Maccabees will compete in the MACFA "B" vs. C" meet, on the campus of NJIT, on Sunday morning.
